Jimmie Edgar Linscomb, 83, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 29, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Brother John Sims of Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Orangefield, Texas, on November 15, 1937, he was the son of Vernon Edgar Linscomb and Sallie Maud (Peveto) Linscomb. Jimmie proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. He went on to work as a firefighter and retired from the City of Orange Fire Department as a Captain after 34 years of loyal service. Jimmie enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, playing cards, and cooking. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Sallie Linscomb; his wife, Glenda Ann Linscomb; and his sisters, June Rose Goats and Janice Jackson. He is survived by his sons, Allan Linscomb and Brian Linscomb, both of Orange; his grandchildren, Adam Linscomb and Ruston Linscomb; his brother, Bobby Linscomb; and his companion, Jerry Dougett. Serving as pallbearers will be Allan Linscomb, Brian Linscomb, Adam Linscomb, Ruston Linscomb, Dusty Carpenter, Lyndsey Sonnier, and Jesse Collins.
