Wallace Darrell Norwood, 62, of Bridge City, passed away on August 1, 2021, in Bridge City. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Paul Fregia. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Sulphur, Louisiana, on January 13, 1959, he was the son of Wallace Samuel Norwood and Betty (Clement) Norwood. Darrell was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Orangefield. He loved his family dearly, especially his mother, Betty. Darrell enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews grow up as well as spending his spare time with them. He left an impact on many lives and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Norwood. He is survived by his mother, Betty Norwood of Bridge City; siblings, Charles Norwood and wife Rebecca of Jasper and Phyllis Gurbach and husband Greg of Richmond; nieces, Amber Harris of Plano, Anne Robertson of Benbrook, Texas, and Britany Lovett of Houston; nephew, Brent Lovett of Katy; as well as 10 great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to First Baptist Church of Orangefield, their kind and thoughtful neighbors, as well as the loving care the nurses of Texas Total Care Hospice gave to Darrell and his family during this tough time.
