BCMS hosted the HJ Hawks in their home opener Thursday night. The 7th grade red team lost 24-6. The offense was led by Hudson Hoffman (touchdown run) and Bryce Breeden. The 7th grade team falls to 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in district. The 8th grade red team defeated the Hawks 34-12. Four different players scored the five Cardinal touchdowns on the night. Slade Herman and Hunter Ford had touchdown receptions, while Austin Frederick and Abraham Munguia (2) had touchdown runs. The offensive and defensive lines did a great job controlling the game. The defense was led by Chris Wagner, Trey Bradley, Hunter Ford, Kolby LeBlanc, Asher Richardson, Ethan Hernandez, and Konner Bradley (interception). The 8th grade team improves to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in district. The Red teams will travel to Silsbee next week. The Bridge City Middle School White teams played two games on Tuesday night. In the game played in Crosby the Cardinals fell to the Cougars. The defense was led by Dane Shaffer, while Evan Jackson led the offense with a 70 yard touchdown run to end the half. In the game played at home, the Cardinals fell to Lumberton. The offense was led by Brayden Greer and JJ Rougeau. The defense was led by Brayan Collazo, Jackson Richey, and Carson Richey. The white teams will play again next week. The 7B team will travel to Vidor Tuesday to take on the Pirates, while the 8B team will head to Silsbee on Thursday to take on the Tigers.
