Games This Week

LITTLE CYPRESS-MAURICEVILLE over LIVINGSTON—The Battlin’ Bears looked really good when they had to Friday night at Lumberton, edging past the Raiders 33-31 and taking sole command of second place behind undefeated Vidor in District 10-4A-II. The visiting Lions are only a game behind the Bears and should treat this game Friday night as their “Super Bowl”.

BRIDGE CITY over LIBERTY—The Cardinals battled Orangefield all the way down to the final gun before losing 23-14 while the Panthers are still licking their wounds after being blown out by the Mighty WO-Stark Mustangs 73-7. The only thing Liberty has going for it Friday night is the home-field advantage, and that may not be enough. But this is the final home game for the Panthers this season.

ORANGEFIELD over HAMSHIRE-FANNETT—The Bobcats are always ready to put out their usual 100 per cent effort like they did last week at Bridge City and hope to treat their many loyal fans to a victory in their season’s home finale. But the Longhorns are battling for one of the few playoff berths still available.

VIDOR over HUFFMAN—This match-up should be better than the records indicate. The Pirates have been doing whatever necessary to get into the win column while the Falcons have had a couple weeks to get ready for this battle.

DEWEYVILLE over BURKEVILLE—Both of these teams are tied for second place in District 12-2A-II and will have a major bearing on the outcome of the league. Both teams suffered losses last week and are anxious to get back to their winning ways.

EASTERN KENTUCKY over LAMAR—The Cards continue to play almost well enough to win and this week could be the one. The Redbirds got off to a slow start last week and never could catch up. Perhaps it will be different this time.

SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA over McNEESE STATE—The Lions have been bullying most of their opponents and should be ready for the Cowboys, despite them being on a two-game winning streak.
