Billy Gary Pollard, 75, of Gist, passed away on January 6, 2022, in Beaumont.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 17, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeremy Walton of New Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Gist. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Alvin, Texas, on March 7, 1946, he was the son of W.W. (Bill) Pollard and Zula Mae (Peveto) Pollard. Billy served the City of Orange for 35 ½ years at the Fire Department as a firefighter. He loved his service to the community and took great pride in his work. He often brought in crowds on his days to cook for the station, with people lining up to taste whatever he made. In addition to being a firefighter, Billy owned and operated P&P Dump Trucks, Pollard Dozer Service, and Pollard Timber Co. Billy loved to work with his hands, often spending time woodworking and gardening. He was an exceptional man with a heart of gold, and will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Zula Pollard; grandchildren, Jacob Kibodeaux, Nicholas Rosen and J.P. Rosen; and brother, Tommy Gayle Pollard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Pollard; children, Martha Hodgkinson and husband Shawn, Debra Kibodeaux and husband Jerry, Dana Christian and husband A.J., Gary Pollard and wife Ninette; grandchildren, Ryan Droll, Aaron Vandagriff, Taylor Breaux, Jessica Janice, Luke Hodgkinson, Logan Hodgkinson, Jaycee Kibodeaux, Josie Kibodeaux, Reid Pollard, Lance Hodgkinson, Rhett Pollard, Reann Pollard, Katelyn Christian, Chesney Kibodeaux, and Bronson Christian; and great-grandchildren, Taylyn Breaux, Emarie Breaux, Bailey Vandagriff and Brielle Vandagriff.
