Hometown News For Orange County, Texas

Kenneth Ray Britnell, 60, Orange

Kenneth Ray Britnell, 60, of Orange, was welcomed into Heaven’s gates on February 19, 2022, at home surrounded by all those he loved most.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on August 7, 1961, he was the son of Claude Dean Britnell and Patricia Ann (Linder) Hudson. Kenny loved spending time on the water fishing, duck hunting and watching game shows. He loved relaxing to a good book and making everyone laugh with his terrible dancing skills. Kenny had a true heart of gold and was a true example of what it was to be a good man.

His pride and joy were his two daughters but no one was wrapped around his fingers quite like his two grandsons were, their “Pappy” he will always be. Kenny would give the shirt off of his back to anyone who needed it without thinking twice. He was loved by everyone who met him and got to cherish his sweet, personable and kind demeanor. Kenny didn’t have a judgmental bone in his body and was always there to lend a listening ear or shoulder to cry on. He met and married the love of his life, Maggie, and together they made the most of the time they were given together.

Kenny worked for Bacon Coast to Coast doing construction work for many years and enjoyed every moment he got to work with his hands, having the ability to build anything he could imagine. He left an impact on everyone who was graced with meeting him, even in the smallest passing moments. Kenny will be missed by all he encountered on his life’s journey and will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother and step-father, Patsy and Dean Hudson; loving wife, Maggie Britnell; adoring daughters, Carissa Isaacs and husband Kevin and Kennedy Belfry and husband Tim, both of Orange; grandchildren, Talon James Belfry and Traxton Alexander Belfry; and grandpuppy, Ladybug; along with siblings, Ricky Britnell and wife Sherry Griffey, Randy Britnell and wife Linda, Barry Britnell and wife Theresa,

Rocky Hudson and wife Brena; aunt, Cheryl Johnson; cousins, Jeffrey Johnson and Jennifer Kent; and best friends, Joe Marshall and wife Jessica.

A memorial service will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Jewel Cormier Park in Orange.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
