Gary Donald Rhoades, 64, of Orange, passed away on February 25, 2022.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Well of Hope Christian Fellowship in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Bobby Granger. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
Born in San Diego, California, on September 14, 1957, he was the son of Geneva (Salley) Cowell. Gary worked all of his life in the shipbuilding industry as a fitter/welder. He adored his children, but no one had a hold on his heart quite like his grandchildren.
Gary was an incredible man inside and out and will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Rhoades; mother, Geneva Cowell; brother, Darryl Hornback; sister, Valerie Crownover; and sisters-in-law, Linda McCarver, Tina Bandeau and Sandra Williams.
He is survived by children, Ronald LeBlanc, Jr. and wife Amanda of Bridge City and Michelle Richardson and husband Shayne of Bridge City; grandchildren, Audrey LeBlanc, Caitlyn Richardson, Texie LeBlanc and Austin Richardson; sisters; Sharon Jones and husband Nathan of Forney, Texas, Lisa Carter and husband Rick of Lucas, Texas; brother-in-law, Ricky LaFleur and wife Becky of Orangefield; and sisters-in-law, Deborah Guillory and husband Guy of Orangefield, Wendy LaFleur of Orangefield and Judith Hornback of Sweetwater, Tennessee; along with many nieces, nephews, and many special friends including, Bobby Granger, Phillip Knox, Rhonda Lejeune and Mike Roden.
