Anjo Cecile Mazzola, 92, Orange

Anjo Cecile Mazzola, 92, of Orange, passed away on March 3, 2022 in Vidor.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 10, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Father Joseph P. Daleo of St. Mary Catholic Church. A private burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with a rosary beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Anjo was born in Warren, Arkansas, on December 8, 1929, she was the daughter of William Russell Wright and Helen Whitmire. She liked to dance, sew and enjoyed every minute of life she lived. Anjo retired after years of being the lay away manager at K-Mart. As the matriarch, there was nothing she loved more than her family. She was a wonderful mother, sister, daughter and friend and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Wright and Helen Whitmire; sons, Robert Mazzola, Anthony D. Mazzola; brother, William Wright "Bill"; and her granddaughter, Erica Nicole Mazzola.

She is survived by her children, Anna Mazzola Mathews and Edward of Orange, Bubba Mazzola and Becky of Orange, Russell Dean Mazzola of Orange, Mark Mazzola and Vickie of Deer Park, and daughter-in-law, Sharon Mazzola of Pasadena; grandchildren, Heather Foreman and Tommy McElduff, Morgan Mathews-Dicken and Joe, Brandy Slaughter and Chris, Kimmie Scott and Sean, Buffy Hooper and Ricky, Candace Cornell and Randy, Mark Mazzola, Jr. and Codi, Cory Mazzola, Chris Mazzola and Valerie, Jacob Mazzola and Liz, AJ Mazzola, Jr. and Macy, and Tristyn Mazzola; twenty-five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; brother Wayland Wright and Sue of LaGrange; and nephew, Bill Wright, Jr. and Robin of Dayton.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and nurses at Vidor Health & Rehab and Altus Hospice for the wonderful care.
