Josephine Young, 84, Orange

Josephine Young, 84, of Orange, passed away on March 13, 2022, at her home in Orange.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Officiating will be Pastor Tommy Anthony. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Josephine was born in Orange, Texas, on March 4, 1938, she was the daughter of Low R McCarver and Gladys Simmons McCarver. She enjoyed bowling when she was younger and graduated from Stark High School in 1955.

Josephine worked at Cummins Diesel in Orange for ten years, traveled as a trainer for Mobil Oil for a short time, and finished her career as a Legal Secretary for the Law Office of Tom Sibley in Beaumont. She frequently volunteered at Orange Memorial Hospital. Josephine loved traveling with her friend group, and she was a dedicated member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church. She was loved by many and will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Lawson Young; parents, Low and Gladys McCarver; sisters, Wilma Lou McCarver Newton, Iris Nadine McCarver Slaughter; and brothers, William D McCarver, and Vernon McCarver.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Wayne Young and wife Christie; grandsons, Arata Young and wife Morgan, David Young, and Timothy Young; step-granddaughter, Katie Broussard; step-great-granddaughter Kayla Broussard; along with cousin, Richard McCarver and niece, Kim Newton.
