Lorene B. Camp, 94, Pinehurst

Lorene B. Camp, 94 of Pinehurst, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont Texas.

She was born on September 11, 1927, in Garvin, OK., to Walter and Fay Carey.

She worked many years in the WOCCISD school cafeterias, and later was Supervisor of West Orange Stark central kitchen until her retirement. After retirement, she volunteered at Orange Hermann Memorial Baptist Hospital, working with the Red Cross.

She volunteered and enjoyed quilting at The Thrift and Gift Shop of Orange. She loved to travel, but her favorite was family camping trips to the lake with her family and fishing at the river with Ray. She enjoyed cooking for her family, and especially loved baking.

Her grandchildren looked forward to their yearly summer vacation when they spent special time with their Granny & Pa, playing games, enjoying picnics, swimming, and she would always cook them their favorite meals and treats.

She created the most wonderful memories for them, and was absolutely the best Granny ever.

Lorene was preceded in death by her her parents, Walter K. Carey and Fay Madden Carey, her late husband John “Ray” Camp, Sr., nephew, E.B. Crocker; brother in-law, Evans Crocker; son in-law, Randy Begley; and grand daughter in-law, Melissa Baker.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Jill (Dave) Knowles, Josh Baker, Carey (Wes) Renchen, Courtney Harris, Clint Harris (fiancé Brei Doremus), John Camp III, Dustin (Jennifer) Camp, and Michael (Heather) Camp.
