Shirley Lea Conley, 86, Orange

Shirley Lea Conley, 86, of Orange, Texas, passed away on May 16, 2022, at Highland Meadows Health and Rehab

in Rockwall, Texas. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022, at The Cemetery in Mauriceville. Officiating

will be Ben Wineinger. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Louisiana, on November 25, 1935, she was the daughter of Simon Peter Wiley and Amanda Jeanette

Wiley. In her life, Shirley worked in several capacities including as a welder for Levingston Shipbuilding

Company, leading a janitorial service at Carbon Black, and working as a licensed vocational nurse at Orange

Memorial and Polly’s Nursing Home. In her free time, Shirley enjoyed being outdoors and tending to her garden.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Vivian Ziegler and Ernestine Lofton; and her brother, Paul

Wiley. Shirley is survived by her children, Franklin G. Hughes, Jr. and wife Shelia of Royse City, Marlin Gene Ellis of

Orange, and Lisa Phillips and partner Dave Hughes of Orange; her 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; her

sisters, Margie Buxton and Maggie Stanley; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
