Cowboy Harley Group (H.O.G.) Chapter 4974 gives thanks

Others recognized were Allison Hennigan, Keli Borel and Jennifer McConnell of Columbanus Motor Sports of Orange accepts a Certificate of Appreciation from Cowboy Harley Group (H.O.G.) Chapter 4974 director Van Jordan. The Appreciation Ceremony was held Saturday recognizing the part the Columbanus group played in the recent "500 For Life" motorcycle rally on June 25.

The goal of the rally was to spread caution to motorists to be especially aware of motorcycles on the road to help save lives. "500 For Life" was cosponsored by Columbanus Motor Sports of Orange and Cowboy Harley of Beaumont.

Penny Record and County Record newspapers helped publicized the recent "500 For Life" event held June 25. Jordan said the various H.O.G. chapters are partners with M.A.D.D., Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, and TxDOT to promote safety for motorcycles. The bottom line Jordan pointed out is there are too many deaths involving motorcycle accidents in Texas and in the nation. The group announced that "500 For Life" will become an annual event.
