Hazel Felix "Scooter" Branham, 50, Orange

Hazel Felix “Scooter” Branham, age 50, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, in Beaumont, Texas. Scooter was born on January 3, 1972, in Vinton, Louisiana to Robert Branham and Laverne Powell Simmons.

Scooter was a sports enthusiast. He played football in high school and enjoyed watching baseball games too. He followed all his great nephews on their sports journeys. He also had an interest in the outdoor life such as fishing, camping, swimming, etc. His passion was his family. He loved all his family and would do anything for them. For those he loved and cared for, he loved with everything he had and without fault. He will be dearly missed and

memories of him will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Scooter is preceded in death by his mother, Laverne Powell Simmons and his nephew, Russell Rumby, Jr. Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Robert Branham of Sumter, South Carolina; his brother, Shon Branham of Orange, Texas; his sisters, Janet Roy of LaPorte, Texas, Teresa Melton of Vidor, Texas, and Leslie Branham Rascoe and her husband, Jody of Kountze, Texas; nieces and nephews, Brandy Robertson, Crystal Wells,Jessica Calder, Stephanie Robinson, Casie Clennon, Denae Mato, Leeann Mato, Jamie Schiesler, Charity Willingham, Cayla Court, Harold Hubbard II, Shanna Hubbard, Christopher Hubbard, Thomas Hubbard, Jr., Niketa Floyd, and Raven Rascoe along with a host of great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2022, at Winfree Baptist Church located at 19525 Highway 62, Orange, Texas 77630. Officiating will be Pastor Jon Winfree of Winfree Baptist Church. Cremation will be held under the direction of Simple Tributes by Claybar.
