Lola Pickett Bingham, 96, of Orange, passed away on August 23, 2022. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 28, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Ashcraft. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Centerville, Louisiana, on November 22, 1925, she was the daughter of Martin C. Pickett and Julia (Daily) Pickett. Lola graduated from Orangefield High School where she enjoyed playing basketball. In 1945 Lola married the love of her life, Leon in Watsonville, California. After WWII they returned to Orange where they settled down and raised their family. Lola loved reading and was one of the first members of North Orange Baptist Church. She was very involved in her church and made many friends there. Lola loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Leon Bingham; son, Bruce Bingham and daughter, Lillie Mae Bingham Gray; parents, Martin Pickett and wife Julia; siblings, Presley M. Pickett, Manel Pickett, Herbert Pickett, Alberta Pickett Littrell, Sybil Pickett, Molessie “Dora” Pickett, and Avery “Bud” Pickett. She is survived by her children, James Bingham and wife Debra of Lincoln City, Oregon and Jeffery Bingham and wife Mary of Bridge City; 7 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and sister, Bonnie Pickett Duncan of Napoleonville, Louisiana.
