Charles W. Lyttle BMCM USCG Ret, 80, Orange

Charles W. Lyttle BMCM USCG Ret, age 80 of Orange, Texas, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

Services to honor Charles will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home with Rev. Gary McCormick officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orange.

Full Military Honors will be provided by the United States Coast Guard and the Southeast Texas Veterans Group.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home.

Charles was born in Portland, Maine on May 13, 1942 to Thelma Pauline Harmon Lyttle and Richard Noel Lyttle.

He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard and retired after over 20 years of service. Charles was a true family man and loved spending time with his family. He always tried so hard to give them the things he did not have growing up. Charles was an exceptional father and grandfather and loved to see the smiles on their faces when they were riding four wheelers while at his camp at Cow Creek. He enjoyed owning his tractors and working with them. He spent countless hours in his shop wood working and fixing everything that his family broke. Charles will be greatly missed by all those that knew his kind and gentle spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Thelma Lyttle and sister, Sharon French.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda Premeaux Lyttle of Orange, TX, son Chuck Patrick Lyttle of Orange, TX, daughter Cathryn Drake and her husband Junior of Orange, TX, brother Rick Lyttle of Orange, TX, brother-in-law John French of Portland, Maine, grandchildren, Jessica Marange and her husband, Joseph of Orange, TX, Jeremy Jordan of Silsbee, TX, and Tristan Smith and her husband, Wesley; and eight great-grandchildren, Brinley, Makenzi, Remi, Lacye, Ryder, Alyson, Ember and Raeleigh.

Pallbearers to honor Charles will be Chuck P. Lyttle, Junior Drake, Jeremy Jordan, Rick Lyttle, Joseph Marange, and Luis Alonso.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Ballast, John Premeaux and Lonnie Mott.
