Lady Bobcats sweep Buna in volleyball

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats won their match with the Buna Lady Cougars on Friday, September 23, in straight sets. The victory makes the Lady Bobcats 3-2 in district.

Two of the three sets were actually very close. The Lady Bobcats won the opening set 25-22 before taking the second one 25-19. The third set was the toughest for Orangefield requiring extra play before the Lady Bobcats won 26-24 to win the match.

Mackenzie Haley and Greenlea Oldham tied with 8 kills each. Lela Francis had 7 and Harleigh Rawls had six kills. The Lady Bobcats had four aces one each from four different players.

Rawls was the Lady Bobcat leader with 13 digs and also had 17 assists. Brianna Moore led the team with 18 assists.

The win by Orangefield snapped a two match losing streak. The Lady Bobcats lost Tuesday, September 20, in four sets to the Hardina Lady Hornets and the Friday before in five sets to the East Chambers Lady Bucs.

Mackenzie Haley had 18 kills in the match with Hardin. Harleigh Rawls had 10 digs and four aces against the Lady Hornets. Brianna Moore was the leader in assists with 17 for Orangefield.

The first half of district concludes this week. The Lady Bobcats played Kountze on Tuesday and play at Anahuac on Friday.
