Elizabeth Chandler Boyett, 88, Bridge City

Elizabeth Chandler Boyett, 88, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on November 19, 2022, at her daughter's home in Bridge City, surrounded by her loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Officiating will be Pastor Matthew Chandler of Life Church in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:30 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Orange, Texas, on July 18, 1934, she was the daughter of Robert Searcy Chandler and Gertrude Lera (Entler) Chandler.

Elizabeth worked as a hair stylist for many years. Later in life, she found great joy in volunteering her time at Shangri La Botanical Gardens in Orange. Elizabeth loved being outdoors and tending to her yard.

She also enjoyed planning new trips, her favorite vacation spot being Las Vegas. More than anything, she loved spending time with her adoring children and grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as "Maw Maw Boyett". Elizabeth touched many hearts, and her memory will be cherished by all who had the honor of loving her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Boyett, Sr.; parents, Robert and Gertrude Chandler; sisters, Bonnie Lym and Elsie Daniels; brothers, Raymond Chandler, Robert Chandler, Jr., and Wendell Chandler; daughters, Rita Hucko and Virginia Tayler; son, Melvin Boyett, Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Raylene Simmons.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky Platt and husband Ronnie of Bridge City; grandchildren, Jeremy Platt, Jessica Church, Joseph Platt, Logan Boyett, Brandy Griggs, Colleen Simmons, and Rachel Freeman; and her 13 great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Platt, Joey Platt, Scott Simmons, Haley Anders, Jade Slater, and Kim Slater.

Honorary pallbearer is Logan Boyett.
