Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on January 12, 1937, she was the daughter of Henry Carl Lyons of Port Arthur Texas and Olive (Leblanc) Richard of Bridge City Texas. Barbara was a devoted Catholic woman, who was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. She was a strong woman and a great person to have as a friend. She was an excellent seamstress who sewed all her children’s clothing in their early years. Aside from sewing, she loved to shoot pool, dance the jitterbug with her husband, play the slot machines at the casino, and she truly enjoyed watching the Houston Astros. She was an avid dog lover, but above all, Barbara loved spending time with her family and visiting with her dear friends. Her memory will be cherished by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Raymond L. Salazar; her parents, Henry Carl Lyons and Olive (Leblanc) Richard; her sons, Raymond Salazar Jr. and David Salazar; her brother, Daniel Lyons; and her sister Nona Romero.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Ramona Louise Fullerton and Mike, of Bridge City and Rhonda Lorayne Wells and Scott, of Bridge City; her grandchildren, Edward Lisotta, Erin Guerra and husband Freddy, Kayla Verdin and husband Randy, Raygon Gibbs and husband Garrett, Chris Wells and wife Carol, and Ashley Wells; and her 10 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way.

Serving as pallbearers will be Garrett Gibbs, Mike Fullerton, Randy Verdin, Scott Wells, Freddy Guerra, and Chris Wells.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to any children’s hospital of your choice.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Harbor Hospis for all their care.
