John Major Pitre, Jr., 85, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on November 17, 2022, in his home.
Born in Mamou, Louisiana, on December 17, 1936, he was the son of John Major Pitre, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Guillory) Pitre. After graduating from Ville Platte High School in 1954, John went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force. John worked for KFRA radio station in Franklin, Louisiana, for many years, he later worked as a supervisor in the maintenance department of the Texas Department of Transportation. John was a hardworking man, who also took great pride in owning his construction company, Pitre Construction Co. In his earlier years, John enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing with his friends. He also developed a love for traveling when time allowed it. John adored his wife of 35 years, Deborah, and his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
e was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Pitre, Sr.; and his daughter, April Suzanne Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Lynn Pitre of Beaumont, Texas; and his daughter, Amy Alexandra Pitre and dog Zero of Austin, Texas; father-in-law, Ray Boudreaux; sisters-in-law, Sherry Landry and Carolyn Peltier; brother-in-law, Randy Boudreaux and wife Maria; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church in Kountze, 1015 S. Pine St, Kountze, Texas 77625.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
