Hometown News For Orange County, Texas
Patsy Darlene Rainwater, 65, of DeRidder, Louisiana, was promoted to angel on November 28, 2022, leaving behind a legacy of brilliant love, side-splitting laughter, and unforgettable memories, that will span generations.
Patsy was a breathtaking example of God’s unfailing love and priceless sense of humor. To say that she broke the mold would be a lie. There’s no way all of that heart, sarcasm, and sass would ever fit into any box. Patsy was a rockstar mother, a fierce friend, and an extraordinary wife. She was world-renowned for speaking her mind, usually with impeccably bad timing. Patsy lived and loved limitlessly. Her best days were spent surrounded by her family and friends, neck deep in the Sabine River, watching the water and her worries drift away.
Those who left to put in a good word for her include, the love of her life, Cecil “CW” Rainwater; beloved son-in-law, Jeremy Clippa; parents, Harold and Hazel; one brother, Tommy; and a few amazing, lifelong friends.
She will be sorely missed and survived by her brother, Melvin Lonadier and wife, Staci, of Corinth, Maine; six children, Andrea Drake (Anthony), of Deweyville, Texas, Misty Clippa, of Deweyville, Texas, Michael Vercher and Joshua Vercher, of the Louisiana State Prison System, Heather Vercher (Jason), of Deweyville, Texas, and Starla Morgan (Daniel), of DeRidder, Louisiana. Patsy’s late husband also blessed her with four bonus children; Kenneth, Bryan, Michelle, and Eric. She also leaves behind a small army of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to honor this absolute wildfire of a woman will be held at 12:00 PM, on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Dorman Funeral Home. A visitation of family and friends will be held prior to services, December 10, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Dorman Funeral Home.
