It is with great sorrow that we announce the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Ruth Ann King, 76, of Bridge City, Texas, who passed in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at her home.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, with a Rosary service to take place at 7:00 p.m
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, with a brief visitation beforehand beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Mrs. King was born on December 27, 1945, in Zwolle, Louisiana, to Jack and Mary Remedies. Throughout her life, she was a private home health care worker and a long-time resident of Bridge City, Texas. Ruth enjoyed spending her time outdoors, where she could be surrounded by her flowers and birds. She had a love like no other for all stray animals, whom she happily took in and cared for. Ruth was a truly incredible woman, who touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry King; son, Gerald King; daughter, Daphne Breaux; parents, Jack and Mary Remedies; brother, James W. Remedies; sisters, Jeannie Sepulvado, Mira Rene Sepulvado, and Nancy Cook; mother and father-in-law, Frank and Melownee King; brother-in-law, Harry King; and sister-in-law, Annabel Kelder
She is survived by her children, Jeri Savant of Kerrville, Texas, Dorene Smith and husband Tom of Delta, Ohio, Christopher J. King and wife Connie of Satellite Beach, Florida, Stephanie Meads and husband Lance of Bridge City, Texas, and Christopher F. King of Bridge City, Texas; sisters, LaRhonda Seymore and husband Cecil of Alabama, Margaret Sepulvado of Zwolle, Louisiana, Joann Collins of Zwolle, Louisiana, and Lucille Sepulvado of Zwolle, Louisiana; brother, Jack Remedies Jr. and wife Sally of Florien, Louisiana; along with 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous other loving friends and family.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Broussard, Eric Richard, Jacob Roy, Michael Abbott, and Matthew King. Honorary pallbearers are Fernando Meshell and Larry Sepulvado.
