James Burett "Blackjack" Hamilton, 83, West Orange

James Burett "Blackjack" Hamilton, 83, of West Orange, Texas, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Celebration of life will be 6:30 pm Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Visitation will begin prior to the celebration at 5:00 pm at Claybar Funeral Home.

Born in Pikeville, Tennessee, on December 23, 1939, he was the son of Robert Taylor Hamilton and Levella (Swafford) Hamilton. He was a graduate from Lutcher Stark High School in 1958 and attended Lamar's Sheetmetal apprenticeship program. He retired as a sheet metal worker and was a member of Sheetmetal Local #196 for 60+ years. He was avid fisherman, former fishing guide on Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn Lake. He loved family time, baseball, and fishing. He coached t-ball, little league baseball, and was a My Wish and Psalms Camp volunteer for many years.

His family includes his wife Sandra Jean Hamilton, daughter Pamela (Darry) Lisemby, daughter Deborah (David) Lisemby, and son Steven (Tiffany) Hamilton, brother Robert Hamilton and sister Betty Ford;

Grandchildren, Katelyn (Korey) Quinn, Dj (Taylor) Lisemby, Zack Butterfield, Brandon Funderburg, Tristan McKnight, Gabbie Lisemby, Bryce Hamilton, Gracie (Eli) McGinley, Jonathon Lisemby, Hannah Lisemby, Tyia McKnight; Great-grandchildren, Kallen, Kyleigh, Kendall and Kolton Bran Quinn, and Ellie Jae, Éowyn, and Andrew Burett Lisemby.
