Alice Faye Stogner Guilott, 69, of Brookeland, Texas, passed away on March 20, 2023, at Harbor Hospice in Jasper.
Born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, on September 1, 1953, she was the daughter of Giles Leonard Stogner, Sr. and Maybelle Theresa (Albares) Stogner. Alice was very talented and hardworking, and when something needed to be done, she made sure it got done right. In the late 1970’s, Alice work for AT&T as an operator but quickly worked her way up to the drafting department. Alice sewed all of her own dresses. When her daughter, Brittany competed in pageants, Alice would stay up all night for days creating and sewing her dresses and after the pageants people would offer to buy them. Alice was also an incredible interior decorator and would use that talent when she sold furniture for Howell’s and Broyhill Galleries. She was an amazing chief and for many years owned and operated “The French Magnolia” in Old Town Beaumont, Texas. In the last several years she would create the most beautiful jewelry. Alice had unlimited talent but she really shined as a wife, mother, and Gama and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maybelle Theresa Jones and Giles Leonard Stogner, Sr.; sister, Pauline Cohen; and brother, Ambers Stogner.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 51 years, Howard Guilott; beloved mother to her children, Brittany and husband Michael Sullivan and Ryan Guilott (Val); devoted Gama to her granddaughters, Madison Guilott, Mallory Guilott, Emily Sullivan, Grace Sullivan (Aaron), and Hannah Sullivan (Shelby); great-grandchildren, Charlotte Sullivan and Brantley Boudreaux; as well as many other loving family and friends.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
