Jack Rogers, 92

Jack Rogers, 92, born September 3, 1930, in Monroe, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at his home in Beaumont, Texas. Jack was a devoted son, husband and father. He was known for his constant selflessness and his true love for God and his family. Above all else, Jack was a true Christian and took joy in sharing about his immeasurable faith in Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle Elizabeth Mayberry, Bill and Lottie Pasch and sister, Evelyn Rogers, all of Louisiana; and his children, son Rand Rogers, daughter Patricia Aymond and grandson Chase Rogers.

Jack is survived by wife, Brenda Rogers; his children, daughter Elizabeth Stein and husband Alan of Houston, Texas; Brad French and wife Grace, of Abilene, Texas, Chelsea Brandimarte and husband, Nathan, of Beaumont, Texas; his grandchildren, Laura Stein, Jacob Stein of Houston, Texas; Ariel Aymond of Spring, Texas and Annabelle Aymond of Bryan, Texas; Summer Willis (Andrew) of Lexington, Virginia, Ashley McManus (Josh) of Houston, Texas, Bella Brandimarte, Tanner Brandimarte of Beaumont, Texas, Victoria Davidson (Drew) of Mary Esther, Florida, Christian, Landry, Faith, Wren and Bronson French of Abilene, Texas; his great grandchildren, Lily Rogers of Lexington, Kentucky, Alfred and August Willis of Lexington, Virginia, and Nova Davidson of Mary Esther, Florida.

Jack grew up throughout Louisiana. He excelled in school sports, but football was his passion. After graduating Springhill High School, where he was later inducted into the Hall of Fame, Jack played collegiate football for Tulane University in New Orleans and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He served the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper.

He proudly marched in President General Eisenhower’s inaugural parade in Washington, DC.

Jack began his career with Texas Eastern, then Gulf Interstate Engineering working in the Alaskan region, becoming a pioneer in the pipeline industry. He then acquired his own business, Techstaff, Inc. and ran his own business for the next 16 years.

Jack remained in the pipeline industry until he was 84 and worked just about every day of his adult life. Jack’s love for his home state of Louisiana and all things cajun were always a part of him. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family in his retirement years and loved reading, bird watching with his cats and “couch coaching” his favorite football teams. He looked forward to his daily calls from his best friend Art Cook for several years.

God was his constant companion, fulfilling all of His promises, and peacefully taking him home. The family would like to thank the medical staff, hospice caregivers and friends that have provided comfort to Jack in these recent times.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2023, at Second Baptist Church (Hankamer Chapel), with a reception to follow in the Deacon’s Parlor for all attending, 6400 Woodway Dr., Houston, Texas, 77057.
