Jerry Padgett, 78, Bridge City

Jerry Padgett, 78, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 17, 2023. A memorial service to honor Jerry will be held at 3:00 pm, on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Dorman Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will follow services, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at Dorman Funeral Home. On Thursday, October 5, 1944, Jerry was born to Emmery and Margie Padgett, in Orange, Texas. Jerry was proud of his county and served in the United States Air Force. Once receiving an honorable discharge, Jerry worked as a pipefitter for over 40 years. He was a member of the Pipefitters Union Local #195, for 26 years. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed drawing, reading, and spending time with family, and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Debra Padgett; parents, Emmery and Margie Padgett; brother, Loveless Schrieber; and children, Marcie Jo Padgett and Stephen Padgett. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Violet Hunt, of Orange; brother, Larry Padgett, of Bridge City; children, Amanda Friar and husband, Matt, of Mauriceville, Jerri Nicole Cormier and husband, Lee, of Bridge City, Shelley Waldrep and husband, Clay, of Deweyville, Ramona Sammons, of Kirbyville, Heather Janik and husband, Dale, of Wharton, Kimberly Hammett and husband, John, of Milam; grandchildren, Slaytter Cormier, Izzabella Cormier, Lexxie Rosario, Karson Friar, Kade Wheat, Jacelyn Waldrep, Brendan Waldrep, Courtney Janik, Melissa Harris, Emily Pointer, Matthew Peveto, Michael Sammons, Meghan Sammons, Mackenzie Sammons; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
