Barbara Cormier Becker, 75 of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2023, in Orange. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Deacon Melvin Payne. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, with rosary at 6:00 p.m., recited by Deacon David Bonneaux.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on January 17, 1948, she was the daughter of Horace Cormier and Marie (Caillier) Cormier. Barbara was a long-time member of the St. Mary Catholic Church. She loved to cook for all her family and friends, especially cajun food. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed making various crafts, as well as making beautiful flower arrangements. Barbara would often make trips out to the beach to lay in the sun and relax the day away.
She loved her grandkids very much and they loved their “Maw Maw B”. Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Horace Cormier; husband, Thomas Arriola; and brothers, Randy Cormier and Charles Cormier.
She is survived by her mother, Marie Cormier; sons, Grant Becker, Jr. and wife Carla of Mauriceville and John Becker and wife Cher of Mauriceville; daughter, Elaine Jackson and husband Jerry of Orangefield; grandchildren, Grant Becker III, Maegan Dixon, Malorie Clark, Geri Ann Fowler, Kacee Davis, Sheldon Becker, Candace Davis, Joshua Shirley, and Austin Shirley; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Grant Becker III, Sheldon Becker, Anthony Fowler, Anfernee Dixon, Austin Shirley, and Hunter Clark.
Honorary pallbearers are Josh Shirley, Corbin Davis, and Kyle Davis.
