Karen Jean Dearing, 73, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 9, 2023, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, prior to service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on April 19, 1949, she was the daughter of Larry Arnold Broussard and Jessie Mae (Budwine) Broussard. Karen worked for many years in accounting at Program for Human Services. She was a woman of great faith and was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Karen found joy in spending time with her loved ones and being outdoors. Some of her fondest memories included the time that she spent at her camp at Toledo Bend Reservoir and family trips to Crystal Beach. Karen was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and had many fun times cheering them on. Her loved ones will always remember her infectious laugh, and she will be missed dearly.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Jessie Broussard; and her husband, Danny Dearing.
She is survived by her brother, Larry Broussard; sister, Diane Faigh; nieces, Dionna Fregia and husband David, and Chrystal Murphy and husband Mike; nephews, Terry Fontenot, Chad Fontenot and wife Dana, Rick Dearing and wife Marla, Brent Dearing and Dana, and Quenton Dearing; as well as numerous loving great-nieces and great-nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Dearing, Rick Dearing, Mike Murphy, David Fregia, Ryan Murphy, and Brandon Hall.
