Sandra Jean Pitre, 85, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 6, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 13, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Sinclair Oubre of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m., Wednesday, April 12, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, with a rosary service taking place at 7:00 p.m.
Born in Orange, Texas, on August 30, 1937, she was the daughter of Casey J. and Mary (Gallien) Peveto. Sandra was a graduate of St. Mary High School in 1955. After high school, she married the love her life, Joseph, sharing 59 wonderful years together.
Sandra taught herself to be an amazing florist and loved making beautiful arrangements. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and camping with her family. She was a member of St. Mary’s Altar Society, St. Mary’s Senior Group, and a ceramic club, where she made many unique potteries. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and going line dancing with Joe. Sandra was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Pitre, Jr.; son, Troy Pitre; parents, Casey and Mary Peveto; and siblings, Debbie Bussell, Casey, Jr., and Shirley Peveto.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa R. Pitre of Orange; son, Ryan Pitre and wife, Juile of Liberty; grandchildren, Dalton Pitre and wife, Chardinay of Liberty; Kendall Pitre of Liberty; Tyson Pitre and wife, Jennifer of Raywood; and Carrie Ingalls and husband, James of Kingwood. Her great-grandchildren: Mallerie Pitre, Presley Pitre, Paris Terrell, and Dawson Pitre all of Liberty; Tyson Joseph Pitre, James Clark, and Annye Clark all of Raywood; and Jamie Ingalls and Gracie Ingalls of Kingwood. Her brother, Ronald Peveto and wife, Margaret of Orange; sister, Karen Anderson and husband, Felix of Orange; sister-in-law, Sister Josephina Pitre O.P. of Houston; as well as many other loving family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Pitre, Tyson Pitre, Dalton Pitre, Casey Peveto, R.C. Peveto, and Lukas LaFargue.
Serving as alternate pallbearers will be Tyson Joseph Pitre and Dawson Pitre.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Derek Anderson, Jeff Anderson, and Michael Anderson.
The family of Sandra would like to extend a special thank you to Goldie Thibodeaux for all the care she has provided to their family.
