OFHS UIL Academic team compete in Brenham

The Orangefield High School UIL Academic team took 19 students to Brenham this past Saturday to compete in the 3A Region 3 UIL Academic Meet. Two of those students will be moving on to compete at the State competition at The University of Texas in Austin this May.

Major Copeland placed 3rd in Current Issues and Events and will compete at State. His sponsor is Mrs. Hyatt.  All three Computer Applications competitors placed. Kaitlyn Jenkins placed 3rd and will compete at State. Laney Bellard placed 4th and Brianna Moore placed 5th. Their sponsor is Mrs. Bellard. Daniel Valentinis placed 6th in Social Studies and the team placed second: team members are Daniel Valentinis, Jackson Droddy, Preysten Myers, and Kadee English. Their sponsor is Mr. Block.

Congrats to all the students that competed and good luck to those that will compete at State in May.
