Edna Ruth James, 82, of Orange, passed away on April 27, 2023, in Beaumont. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 3, at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Port Acres, Texas, on October 12, 1940, she was the daughter of Ernest V. Hunter, Sr. and Opal Lee (Wiggins) Hunter. Edna was a very creative and artistic lady who loved woodworking and crocheting. Her and Talmadge, her loving husband, were like professional nomads, traveling every chance they got, and she always enjoyed bird watching. Edna also enjoyed photography and made the best short films with her pictures of all the new places and things they have seen over time. She left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Edna was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by those who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest V. Hunter, Sr. and Opal Hunter; and brothers, Ernest V. Hunter, Jr. and Robert J. Hunter. She is survived by her loving husband, Talmadge James; children, Richard Boyd and wife Brenda and Ernest Boyd and wife Mary Ann; step daughters, Dana James and Melanie James; grandchildren, Tabitha Haygood and husband Shane, RaDonna Noyola and husband Marcus, Adam Boyd and wife Lindsay, Alan Boyd and fiancée Cody, Arlis Boyd, Caitlin Talbert and husband Logan, Alec Boyd, and Mandolyn Wheeland; great grandchildren, Ayla Boyd, Jared Boyd, Jolene Miller, Gavin Noyola, Anakin Noyola, and NaVaé Noyola; great great grandchildren, Scarlett Boyd and Mazikeen Singletary; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Boyd, Marcus Noyola, Alan Boyd, Alec Boyd, Jared Boyd, and Jon Candelaria. Honorary pallbearer is Logan Talbert.
