Dixie Lillian Gardner, 79, Orange

Dixie Lillian Gardner, 79, of Orange, passed away peacefully at her home, on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

She was born February 15, 1944 in Von Ormy, Texas, to the late W.H Hill and Mary Katherine Knoud.

Services to remember Dixie will be held at Dorman Funeral home on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 10:00 am. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 5:00 pm- 7:00pm, at Dorman Funeral Home.

Dixie lived in Orange for 60 years and worked for Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School, as a cafeteria employee, for over 25 years.

She was strong in her Baptist faith and especially enjoyed her time with her friends, and family. When she wasn’t spending time with her loved ones, she was out cleaning the yard and always finding something to get into.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Harold Ray Gardner Sr., sister; Ginger Hall and nieces; Robin and Chanda.

She is survived by her children, Harold Ray Gardner Jr. and wife, Stacey, of Orange, Texas, Cindy Holton and husband, Jeff, of Orange, Texas, Helen Polasek and husband, Donald, of Cypress, Texas, Lisa Walker, Susie Jimenez and husband, Joe, of Dallas, Texas, Marcy Klim and husband, Rich; brother, Jimmy Hill and wife, Sue, of Gilmer, Texas, Barbara Hill of Orange, Texas; grandchildren, Dylan Gardner, Brenden Gallagher, Brett Holton, Lauren Holton, Amy Albright, Derek Polasek, Dustin Polasek; step-grandchildren, Stephanie, John, Roger, Christal, Natasha, Amber, and Chris; Numerous great-grandchildren and a host of family, and friends.

Dixie Lillian Gardner will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
