Merline “Pat” Boozer, 87, of Orange, Texas, passed in Beaumont, Texas, on May 2, 2023, surrounded by family.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023, at McClelland Church Cemetery in Shelby County, Texas.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in San Augustine, Texas, on December 14, 1935, to Sam Houston and Jackie Gamble. Pat was a loving and wonderful friend, mother, and grandmother.
She was happiest when she was spending family time with her children and grandchildren, but especially her great-grandchildren. She was loved and cherished by all who came to know her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Boozer; brother, Hugh Oscar and wife, Louise Gamble; twin sister, Verline “Fuzz” and husband, Gerald Stewart. Brother and sister in law, Thurman and wife, Jimmie Boozer; and great-granddaughter, Lainey Grace Johnson.
Those left to honor her memory are children, Mike Boozer and wife, Patricia, Leisha Cassidy and husband, Jimmy, Harold Boozer and wife, Brenda, and John Boozer; grandchildren, Michael Boozer, Jr., Jennifer Keel, Monica Johnson, Kyle Cassidy, Amanda Istre, Chris Boozer and Leanne Fuselier; along with 13 great-grandchildren.
The family of Pat would like to extend their love and appreciation to Velma Hopkins and Veronica Leslie for all the care, love, and compassion they provided not only for Mrs. Boozer, but for the whole family.
