Kirk Bonnin, 62, of Orange, passed away on May 10, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, with his two children by his side.
Mass of Christian remembrance will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Father Antony Paulose.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with a rosary following at 10:00 a.m.
Born in Orange, Texas, on June 26, 1960, he was the son of Riley Joseph Bonnin and Jane Bonnin Jeanise.
Kirk was an avid lover of sports, especially football and baseball. He was a huge fan of the Houston Astros, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Longhorns, along with steadily keeping up with his hometown team the West Orange Stark Mustangs. Kirk retired as a maintenance mechanic from Honeywell International in Orange.
After retirement, he continued to keep himself busy as caretaker and manager of St. Mary Cemetery, alongside his loyal membership to St. Mary Catholic Church.
Kirk enjoyed cooking big meals and always loved having his family around to share good food and good times. He could often be seen cruising around town in his beloved maroon Chevy Silverado. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Riley Bonnin; and brother, Mark Bonnin.
He is survived by his mother, Jane Bonnin Jeanise; children, Crissa Vasquez and husband, Cody, and Taylor Bonnin; brothers, Tim Bonnin and wife, Angie, Boyd Bonnin; sisters, Lisa Blackstock, Susan Dorman and husband, Bohn, Myra Comeaux and husband, Paul, Margo Merritt; many nieces and nephews, as well as other loving friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either St. Mary Catholic Church located at 902 West Cherry Ave, Orange, Texas or to St. Mary Catholic School located at 2600 Bob Hall Road, Orange, Texas.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
