Billie Rae Ferguson, 90, of Bridge City, passed away on June 6, 2023, at her home.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Monday, June 12, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00pm, Monday, June 12, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Hemphill, Texas, on January 9, 1933, she was the daughter of Jesse W. Tompkins and Mae (Erwin) Tompkins. Billie was a graduate of Stark High School in Orange, Texas. After graduating high school, Billie met the love of her life, Mack Ferguson, and they soon married. They started a family and settled in Bridge City, Texas. Billie was a wonderful mother and had a very strong belief in God. It is known by all who knew her that Billie was a Christian woman who loved the Lord. Billie presented that love of the Lord every day of her life and in the manner she raised her children. Billie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mack Selectman Ferguson; daughter, Karen Kay Trahan; siblings, Imogene Bass, Mildred Day, and Jesse W. Tompkins.
She is survived by her son, Mack Selectman Ferguson, Jr.; daughter, Dena Dianne Tarver and husband, John; son, Steven Glenn Ferguson and wife, Judy. She is also survived by her sister, Bernice Clark; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren. As well as numerous nephews and nieces, and beloved family members.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Trahan, Jeremy Smith, Brandon Tarver, Eric Smith, Jason LaBouve, and Taran Hebert. Honorary pallbearers are Master Sargent David Christopher Tarver, retired.
