Silas Archibald 'Archie' McLellan, 89, Orange

Silas Archibald 'Archie' McLellan, 89, of Orange, Texas, passed away on June 5, 2023, at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home, in Vidor, Texas. Funeral service to honor Archie will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Dorman Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow services, at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Visitation of family and friends will be held prior to funeral service, from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM, on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Dorman Funeral Home.

Archie was born to parents Clark and Ettie McLellan, on May 26, 1934, in Port Barre, Louisiana. He graduated from Stark High School and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant, before he was Honorably discharged. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Archie began working at Firestone Refinery. After he retired from Firestone, he continued his college education by obtaining his Associates Degree, in Computer Science.

Archie married Laqueta, in 1967, who he spent 45 years with, before her passing, in 2012.

Archie is survived by his brother, David McLellan and his wife, Nancy; sons, Samuel McLellan, Marcus McLellan and his wife, Theresa; step-sons, Dennis Garrison, Bryan Garrison; grandson, Corbin McLellan and his wife, Ariana; as well as a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding Archie in death are his parents, Clark and Ettie McLellan; wife, Laqueta McLellan; sister, Barbara McLellan; and brother, Clark McLellan, Jr.
