Janice Clark Smith, 75, Orange

Janice Clark Smith, a cherished mother, wife, sister, and grandmother, peacefully passed away in Austin on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 2:08 pm.

She was born to Artis and Essie Louise Foreman on February 3, 1948, in Orange, TX, where she began a life that radiated with warmth and love. Janice's unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her vibrant presence extended far beyond the city of her birth, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.

A true testament to her strength and determination, Janice was a cancer survivor, having triumphed over endometrial cancer in 2003. In 2005, she relocated from Beaumont, Texas to Austin, to offer her loving care and supervision to her grandson Julian Vaughn Clark and granddaughter Ava Isabel Clark.

In the last few years of her life, though Janice faced the challenge of limited mobility, it did not hinder her radiant happiness or her boundless love of life and laughter.

Her devotion to her family was unparalleled, only possibly matched by her unwavering faith in God and dedication to her walk with Christ.

Janice is survived by her loving husband, John Henry Smith, her devoted son Heath Vaughn (Julissa) Clark, grandson Julian Vaughn Clark, granddaughter Ava Isabel Clark, her brothers Danny and Terry Lynn Foreman, and sister Susan Elizabeth Foreman.

A woman of great resilience, faith, and love, Janice's life will be celebrated with a funeral mass on Monday, July 3, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orange, Texas, at 10:00 am. Janice's life was a testament to strength, love, and laughter.

Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all those who were fortunate to know her.
