Bridge City High School names new principal

Dr. Amanda James has been named the new principal for Bridge City High School for the 2023-24 school year. She is in the middle with her husband, Derek James, their two grown daughters and grandchildren. She is a native of Southeast Texas with a bachelor's degree from Lamar University in biology with a minor in chemistry. After working in biomedicine, she went into education as a teacher with the Goose Creek school district in 2006. She has spent 17 years in education in a variety of positions. She has a master's degree in education from Lamar. She then earned a PhD from Texas Tech Univesity in curriculum and instruction, with a concentration in STEM education.
