The Bridge City Strutters win big at team line camp.

The Bridge City High School Strutters attended the American Dance Drill Team line camp in Richardson this past week where they learned numerous dances to prepare for football season. The camp is rigorous and physically demanding- dancers attending spend approximately 16 hours a day dancing and fine-tuning routines. During the camp, the Strutters were evaluated on 3 routines and opted in to work towards earning Super Sweepstakes. Individual team members also had the opportunity to audition for Miss High Kick and All-American. Not only did the Strutters take home Super Sweepstakes, but they were named ADTS Grand Champions along with numerous other team and individual awards/accolades- including over half of the team being named All-American dancers.

The camp is the first for new Strutters director, Chassadi Decker-Cude, but she was not at all surprised when awards were announced. "Team camp is about building a strong connection with your teammates and learning to work together to overcome obstacles and face adversity. The awards are special and I am proud of all they achieved; however, the real prize is growing the team bond and encouraging each other to reach full potential. Mediocrity is not an option- the standard is Excellence and that is what makes the Strutters stand out. The best is yet to come for the 23/24 Strutters and I am excited to showcase all of their hard work this fall and during the spring for competition season."
