Danny Wayne Slaughter, 69, Orange

Danny Wayne Slaughter, 69, left to be with his Lord and Savior on July 13, 2023, at 7:25 p.m.

He was a welder by trade and worked at TDI-Halter Orange, Bechtel LNG Plant Cameron, Louisiana. The last few years he worked at Orange County Environmental Services.

Born and raised in Campti, Louisiana to parents, Jim Henry Slaughter and Myrtle Smith Slaughter.

Danny Wayne was clearly a wonderful and much loved man and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. He had many many friends and never met a stranger.

Danny loved hunting and fishing and visiting with family and friends. He loved joking, cold beer, and barbeque, and loved to feed any and everybody.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Myrtle Slaughter; sisters, Evelyn Slaughter Macon and Patricia Perot; and brothers, Jimmy Ray Slaughter and Jerry Wayne Slaughter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Barbara Slaughter; daughters, Sandra Ates and husband, Tommy, of Campti, Louisiana, Jessica Zaki of Orange, Texas, Jennifer Baptist and husband, Dominic of Wanstead, London England, and Misty Slaughter of Silsbee, Texas; sisters, Shirley Manuel and husband, Robert of Orangefield, Texas, Vickie Uku and husband, Essay of Sulpher, Louisiana, and Audrey Delahoussaye and husband, Jean-Paul of Roswen, New Mexico; sisters-in-law, Laurel Slaughter of Rio, West Virginia, and Peggy Bailey Slaughter of Campti; grandchildren, Chelsea Giddings and husband, James, Douglas Ates, Sabrina Ates, Isabel Zaki, Shan Zaki, and Ozzy Baptist; great-grandchild, Lesley Lane Taylor “Pretty Gal”; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special shoutout to Danny’s dearest furry friend, Harry P. Potter, who is still sitting and waiting for his Paw Paw to come home. Him and his Harry P. had a bond that never could be broken.
