Nolan James Hicks, 56, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on August 5, 2023, in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Bridge City United Pentecostal Church in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Murry Ray. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.
Prior to the service, visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at Bridge City United Pentecostal Church in Bridge City.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas on November 7, 1966 to D.C. and Dorothy Hicks, Nolan was a graduate of Bridge City High School Class of ’85. He was also known as the big friendly giant. Always willing to lend a helping hand and words of encouragement.
He was met at the Pearly Gates by his daughters, Shelbi Lynn and Alisa Nicole, his father D.C. and his sister, Janice.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Dorothy, nieces, Amanda Cartlidge and Lars Smith of Baytown, Texas, Keylea and Glynn Colley Jr. of Buna, Texas, nephew Richard Kimball and Kaci McKay of Orange, Texas, numerous great nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as all of his HEB and Home Depot family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn Perritt, Keith Morgan, Glynn Colley Jr., Richard Kimball, Brent Barbre, Russell McMahon, and Mike Murphy. Honorary pallbearers are Shawn Price, William McMahon, and Trey Tomplait.
