Terry Columbus Jacobs, Jr., 88, Orange

Terry Columbus Jacobs, Jr., 88 of Orange, Texas passed away on August 11, 2023, in Orange, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Officiating will be his grandsons, Reverend Jeremy Jacobs and Reverend Timothy Jacobs. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Poplarville, Mississippi on January 1, 1935, he was the son of Tarry Columbus Jacobs, Sr. and Virgie King Jacobs. T. C. was a Chemical Operator for Firestone. He loved westerns and delving into the history of the Old West.

In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and fishing, but his passion was leading young men through his service as a Scoutmaster, which he dedicated many years into this service. T.C. was a wonderful man who will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Mary Jacobs; his parents, Tarry C. Jacobs, Sr. and Virgie Jacobs; his brothers, Ray Jacobs and Eastman Jacobs, and his sister, Bettie Lou Stillwell.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Sue Jacobs Freese and husband, Henry, his sons, Terry Columbus Jacobs III, and wife, Charlotte “Shotsey”, and Ricky Allen Jacobs and wife, Meri Elen. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Timothy Jacobs, Christopher Jacobs, Jeremy Jacobs, Eric Jacobs, Stevan Smith, Shonnalee Jacobs Converse, Alayna Jacobs, Stephanie Freese, and Whitney Freese Thompson, along with 17 great-grandchildren, his sisters, Joyce King and Jennie Snyder and husband, Jerry; and numerous other friends and family. Serving as pallbearers will be Henry Freese, Eric Jacobs, Timothy Jacobs, Christopher Jacobs, Jeremy Jacobs, Kyle Thompson, and Bryant Jacobs. Honorary pallbearer will be Stevan Smith.
