Wayne Lee Gordon, Sr., 76, of Orange, Texas, passed away on August 18, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Orange, Texas, on September 30, 1946, he was the son of William Earl Gordon and Jimmie Pearl (Thomas) Gordon. Wayne proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and later went to work as a letter carrier for the Post Office for 28 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 2275, as well a member of the American Legion. Wayne enjoyed playing pool with friends, who called him a “pool shark” for his talent. In his free time, he loved to go fishing and just being with his friends. Wayne was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Jimmie Gordon; and siblings, William Earl Gordon, Jr., Elizabeth Ann Windham, and Otis Gene Gordon. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cora Gordon; daughters, Kelley Fridel and husband, Richard, and Margaret Kovatch; sons, Tommy Ray Gordon, Wayne Lee Gordon, Jr. and wife, Brandy, Jimmy Gordon and wife, Sirena, and Christopher James Gordon; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family and friends. A private entombment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
