Lady Bobcats start district volleyball on Friday

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats begin their district volleyball schedule this Friday at Kirbyville. The varsity game will start at 4:30 PM in the gymnasium at Kirbyville High School followed by the junior varsity and freshmen matches.

The Lady Bobcats played their final non-district game on Tuesday. Orangefield traveled to Port Neches-Groves for the last match before district.

Orangefield won two matches last week both in three straight sets. The Lady Bobcats beat Woodville 25-12, 25-11, 25-21 on Friday, September 1, and earlier swept Deweyville 25-14, 25-17, 25-17 on Tuesday, August 29.

Against Woodville, Greenlea Oldham was the Orangefield leader in kills with 8 while Mikayla Locke and Kaitlyn Jenkins both had 4 kills. Hannah Block made 9 digs and Eliese Gravett saved 6 opponent's shots. Lela Francis led the Lady Bobcats with 3 blocks and 4 aces. Brianna Moore with 25 assists was the top Lady Bobcat in that statistic.

Greenlea Oldham also had a strong match against Deweyville leading Orangefield in kills with 7 and blocks with three. Lela Francis served 6 aces, made 2 blocks, and had 4 kills. Three Lady Bobcats Mikayla Locke, Addisyn Moore, and Eliese Gravett each had 5 digs. Brianna Moore assisted on 25 points for Orangefield.
