Anthony Joseph Lucia, Jr. 67, Bridge City

Anthony Joseph Lucia, Jr. 67, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on September 18, 2023, peacefully at his home in Bridge City, Texas.

Born in Orange, Texas, on September 17, 1956, he was the son of Anthony Joseph Lucia, Sr. and Josie Sherville Lucia. Growing up Anthony was a very determined worker. His first job at the age of 16 was delivering the paper on his motorcycle, but only on the most pretty days. Now, on days the weather was bad, you can best bet he was dragging his big sister along with him in the morning to do his paper routes before school. Anthony was a jack of all trades and his most favorite job was when he worked for Lucia Mini-Mart, where he was a butcher for over 20 years. Anthony worked at Car Works Auto Sales with Owner Melissa Butler, where he won employee of the month (even though he was the only employee). His last career title was Financial Counselor at Commercial Credit. He enjoyed all of his careers so much, but what he loved to do most was get his family together. He was an excellent cook, and catered all of the family gatherings. Along with family time, Anthony also enjoyed going camping with his friends. He was a giving man who would give the shirt off of his back to a complete stranger. Anthony had a servant’s heart and was a very loving man. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Josie Lucia.

He is survived by his siblings, Josie Powell and husband Mike, Geraldine Magnuson and late husband Rocky, Frances Lucia-Morgan, Allan Lucia, and Vincent Patrick Lucia. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews who are like his own children, Melissa Sawyers, Teresa Baker, Will Whitley, Curt Lucia, Steven Morgan, Misti Brooke Lucia, Rocky Magnuson, Chris Magnuson, and Scott Magnuson.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Southeast Texas Hospice, and all of their amazing staff. The family would also, like to thank Yvette Cotton for her kind and compassionate care.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
