James Douglas Vidrine, 78, of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 18, 2023, in Port Arthur, Texas.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Ross Waggoner. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas.
Born in Crowley, Louisiana, on July 30, 1945, he was the son of Dudley and Agnes Vidrine. He grew up in Port Arthur, Texas and worked at Sunbeam Bakery for 25 years. He enjoyed his yard work and loved keeping it beautiful and his grass short. Most of all, Douglas was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed playing football and baseball with his kids and nephews every chance he got.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Agnes Vidrine; his wife, Anita Vidrine; his daughter, Dolly Rebecca Vidrine; and his siblings, Ray Wood Vidrine, Earl Vidrine, and Mary Lou Guidry.
He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Sue Castille and husband Todd, Melissa Ann Holloway, and Barbara Jo Williamson; his grandchildren, Summer Stephenson, Ricky Riley, Jo Jo Williamson, Savannah Williamson, Megan Williamson, Alexis Williamson, and Jontavia Holloway; 16 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Glenda Yeatts, Elrey Vidrine, Ella Rose Degeyter, Beatrice McKae, Delores Deleon, Beverly Abshire, and Judy Hernandez.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Riley, Dale Degeyter, Clinton Degeyter, Avite Degeyter, David Degeyter, and Paul Welch.
The family would also like to express their gratitude for Harbor Hospice, especially Alisa Jones.
