Lady Bears pull off big comeback in volleyball

The Little Cypress Mauriceville Lady Bears bounced back from their tough loss in the district opener to Bridge City with an amazing comeback against Vidor three days later. The Lady Bears dropped the first two sets before taking the last three to capture the win.

The match was played Friday, September 15, at the Dr. Pauline Colburn Hargrove Gymnasium at LCM High School. Vidor won the first set 25-23 and then the second 25-19 to be on the brink of victory.

Little Cypress Mauriceville kept its hopes alive with a dramatic 25-22 win in the third set and then evened the contest taking the four set 25-17. The deciding fifth set was another tight one with the Lady Bears prevailing 15-12 over the Lady Pirates to take the match three sets to two.

The Lady Bears were led by a host of players. Lindi Perry made 13 kills, Ella Russell served 7 aces, Addi Russell had 24 assists, Ava White saved 25 digs, and Amaya Meadows stuffed 7 blocks for LCM.

On Tuesday the Lady Bears traveled to Lumberton. Little Cypress Mauriceville plays its next home game on Friday, September 22, against Jasper.
