Lady Bobcats undefeated in three district volleyball matches

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats remained undefeated in district volleyball through their first three matches. This set the stage for the big showdown at the district favorite Hardin on Tuesday, September 19.

The Lady Bobcats played East Chambers on Friday, September 15, at Orangefield. It was a straight set win for the Lady Bobcats 25-5, 25-16, and 25-15 over the Lady Bucs.

Lela Francis had a big evening for Orangefield serving 5 aces. Francis also had 3 kills and 1 block.

Orangefield also received a strong performance from Greenlea Oldham with 7 kills and a block. Mikayla Locke was also a leader for the Lady Bobcats matching Oldham's total with 7 kills while adding 6 digs.

Setter Brianna Moore made 22 assists to go with her 5 digs. Kaitlyn Jenkins contributed 3 kills and Addison Moore made 7 digs to lead Orangefield in that category.

Earlier in the week on Tuesday, September 12, the Lady Bobcats played at Warren. Orangefield also took that match in straight sets 25-21, 25-18, and 25-15.

Brianna Moore led the Lady Bobcats with 23 assists and tied Mikayla Locke with 2 aces. Brianna's sister Addison Moore topped Orangefield in digs with 17 and Hannah Block had 15 digs.

Greenlea Oldham was big smashing 6 kills and making 3 blocks for Orangefield. Lela Francis made 5 kills, and Kaitlyn Jenkins had a block.

After Tuesday's match with Hardin the Lady Bobcats play at Buna on Friday, September 22 and at Kountze on Tuesday, September 26. Orangefield's next home match will be Friday, September 29, against Anahuac which will conclude the first half of district play for the Lady Bobcats.
