Darren “Dagwood” Wilson, 55, of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 20, 2023, peacefully at home. Born in Orange, Texas, on October 25, 1967, he was the son of John Lee Wilson and Jerry Gwen (Stewart) Wilson. Darren married Lisa on August 3, 1991, and had two wonderful sons Hunter and Tanner that he adored. He loved bow hunting, fishing, and baseball. Darren coached Little League Baseball for 13 years and was loved by many people and players he coached. He was a loving father, husband, and friend to many. Darren was a hard worker for his family and was a welder and later a process operator. The last few years he was a supervisor for LyondellBassell in Westlake, Louisiana. He loved his work family and the company. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at MD Anderson and LyondellBassell for taking care of him physically and financially. They would also like to thank their neighbors for the love and support they gave him and his family, and his church family at Church of Christ for the many prayers and support and the in-home visits and the Sunday worships they would bring him. Darren will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Lee and Jerry Gwen Wilson; grandparents, Percy and Frankie Stewart, Elvin Alvin and Elva May Dorion Wilson; and father-in-law, Warren Roden. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Roden Wilson; sons, Hunter Wilson of Rosenberg and Tanner Wilson of Orange; sister, Kim Wilson Blair and Mike of Hamilton, Alabama; bother, Todd Wilson and Jane of Orange; mother-in-law, Betty Roden of Bridge City; sisters-in-law, Karen Tims of Gonzales, Louisiana, and Janice Cormier of Port Arthur; brothers-in-law, Daryl Roden and Susan of Woodville, Mississippi, Keith Roden and Debbie of Cotton Valley, Louisiana, and Prentiss Roden of Dallas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation will be held under the direction of Simple Tributes in Orange.
