LCM to name field Mota Field

In the future, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville High softball team will be playing their home games on Mota Field. Monday night, the LC-M CISD school board voted unanimously to name the field after 86-year-old Pete Mota, who has supported the school district's athletic teams at all levels for more than 50. Superintendent Stacey Brister made the suggestion to honor the superfan and the board unanimously agreed.

Mota stands in front of board members, who are President Chris Riedel, Tammy Rountree, Jeff Hill, Clint Temple, Josh Fisher, Kevin Wallace, and Derry Dunn. The district will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Mota Field at the opening day of the softball season.
