Tammy Smith, 63, Orange

Tammy Smith, 63, of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2023, in Orange.

Typical of my Mom she would have started this by saying “Why do I need an Obituary, no one needs to know I died.” So we will keep this short and sweet on her behalf. She was born in Beebe, Arkansas, on April 17, 1960, to Troy Fogarty and Clara (Fern) Hamric. She was raised by Olen (Gene) Clark and Fern Clark in more towns than need mentioning. Tammy loved spending time with her family, especially on camping trips where she looked forward to cooking for them. Her favorite place to be was always near the water, it did not matter if it was the lake or the beach with a good campfire that may or may not be able to be seen and felt from 3 miles away. She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with those she chose to be in her presence. Tammy was a selectively wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister and will be missed by those who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Troy Fogarty, Gene and Fern Clark; and her sister, Debbie Clark.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Tiffany Smith and wife, Misty, Tara Jones, and Taylor Smith; her grandchildren, Kyleigh Jones, Mallory Jones, Reece LeBlanc, and Riley LeBlanc; and her siblings, Mary (Kathie) Tupper and her daughter and grandchildren, Carol Tiller and husband, Kevin and their children and grandchildren, William Fogarty and wife, Tammy and their children and grandchildren, Ken Clark and wife, Donna and their children and grandchildren, and Russell Clark and wife, Lyndilyn and their son.

There were many discussions of the services she preferred and to quote her correctly she said, “I don’t want a casket or a service because I don’t want anyone staring at me.” Her wishes were to be cremated and to have a tree planted in her honor. There have been Remembrance Trees purchased in her honor in the Sequoia National Park. In lieu of flowers you can make donations to Harbor Hospice, A Living Tribute, or The American Cancer Society.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Wesley Palmer and his office for always going above and beyond for the care of my Mother throughout her entire life and especially in these last few months of her life. We would like to thank Harbor Hospice and the team of professionals that assisted in the care of our Mom during her battle with Cancer. My Mom was extremely grateful for April and the care she provided.
